I will probably jinx it by writing about it here, but I have to share my great news with everyone here: Thomas has slept all the way through the night for two out of the last three nights. Huzzah!
I won’t go into too much detail here, but let’s just say that the past several (like 6) months have been difficult sleep-wise. And let’s also just say that neither Thomas nor Mommy is at his/her best when he/she has been awake 3 or 4 times every night.
But it’s getting better, and because of this, I’ve just had the best morning in recent history.
It has been my plan for, oh, the past 10 months or so to wake up around 6:00 and take a shower, eat breakfast, make coffee, unload the dishwasher, etc. before Thomas wakes up around 7:00. But this plan has not been actualized due to my frequent late-night awakenings and Thomas’ insistence on waking up at 4:30 or 5:00 or 6:00.
Today, though, it worked! Will and I got up, both got showers, ate, checked email, unloaded (and reloaded!) the dishwasher, etc. all before the little man awoke from his peaceful slumber. Which allowed me further time to hang out with my little guy, read him a book, get him some breakfast, and walk the dog all before jumping on the bus at 8:15.
So excuse me, dear readers, while I get back to that dissertation chapter. I have work to do!
